7th body found in Calif. canal after SUV carrying farmworkers and septic tank truck crashed
Authorities have found what they believe is the seventh and final victim of a crash that sent two vehicles plunging into an irrigation canal in central California.
The California Highway Patrol says a fisherman spotted the corpse in the Delta-Mendota Canal on Thursday. It was found about six miles downstream from where a septic tank truck collided with a sport utility vehicle carrying six farmworkers Tuesday.
Araceli Martinez says she believes the body is that of her cousin, 21-year-old Lucas Martinez of Lodi, who has been missing since the crash.
The Highway Patrol says the Stanislaus County Coroner will make the official identification.
